Whew! He Musta Missed It!

.... agility that is! Today was our first class in 8.. yes EIGHT, weeks, and let me tell you, Tractor fired into the agility ring and took two jumps and a tunnel before coming back at me.. about 80mph!

He was so amped up, that it made class even MORE fun.. but slightly chaotic. He was NUTS for each obstacle, and I was worried that those two months off (right at our peak time.. he had just gotten a REALLY solid contact and comfortable footing in 12 weaves), he would forgotten both.. but I am so happy to report that it he didn't! He NAILED his dog walk and a-frame contact.. and on his 2nd try nailed all 12 weaves.. and this wasn't the same weave monster we had created before... he FLEW through them so fast, I literally was running to try and keep up.

We had a dog walk and turn into a tunnel that was wrapped under the dog walk... he was SO friggen amped up, that he was staring VERY intensely at me... and as I released him and said "Turn/Tunnel" - he turned SO sharp that he dove into the SIDE of the tunnel! My trainer and I couldn't stop laughing, because it didn't even phase him, he just shook his head and re-attempted it and got through. He was on FIRE, all class.. and let me tell you.. all that pent up energy and work - after so much time off.. he was POOPED after class. He came home, had a power snack and is now snoozing in his chair.

That class alone just fed my addiction, and I am SO excited to pursue more agility this fall. We start group classes next Tuesday.. 1x per week, and then we'll have 2 private lessons each week all next month. Our first trial of the fall is October 25th, and its here in a suburb of Las Vegas, so not only do we not have to travel far.. we'll get to try working on those AKC novice titles! One more in FAST and he's got it! We also have two more AKC trials here in Vegas.. one in November and one in December, so that is our ultimate goal. To have him in all OPEN by the first of the year.

A little bit of sad news.. due to my new position at work, I'm having to take on a bigger workload - so our Colorado trip this weekend was canceled. So.. no more dock dogs until Nationals in October, but luckily he only has to wait a little over 3 weeks and we'll be headed to Wisconsin.

No pictures or video from class, but maybe next week I can get someone to come with, as they are evening classes, so stay tuned! :-)

That's hilarious! I'm sure Tractor was pumped to be back playing agility. I saw how excited Dylan was... can't imagine Tractor's energy!

He's such a good boy to remember and nail his contacts/weaves -- can't wait to see a video of him :)
