lovin' agility!

Well, this week has been great for Tractor and I. We have three classes this week, and yesterday was our 2nd one of the week. He was in the BEST mood - from the second he hopped out of the car, to the very end of class, he was just “on”. He was driving harder and faster than usual, focusing a lot more, picking up everything even quicker than usual.. he was just ON FIRE.

Our instructor and I just were SO happy with how he was.. we are considering switching the time of day of our classes. We normally go around 1-2.. but this class was at 4:30, so we wonder if it happened to be the time of day that works better for him.

We were able to work more on weaves this class, and while they are still not completely vertical - he was NAILING them. We had the course set up, where he came out of a straight tunnel, and had about 5′ before having to hit the weaves. Well the weaves were angled, so it was NOT lined up for him.. and he flew out of the tunnel, regrouped and FOUND his entrance. All on his own!!!! It was SO neat to see.. and Mary Kay (our instructor) was just beyond happy, because she said a lot of dogs lose focus and take a minute to regroup after a tunnel.

We also worked his contacts. His A-Frame and Teeter are AWESOME.. we are still struggling a bit with the dog walk contact, but we’ll get there. I finally got the registration stuff for NADAC done, and we’ll be registering him for his first trial - the second weekend in March. I am not sure what classes we are going to do, but I will keep everyone posted. :-)
